There have been so many things happening here. My step dad has lost his battle with cancer. I hesitate to write this for several reasons. Yes, he was my step dad but he raised us. So for me he IS dad but my own dad is also part of my life. Confusing yes, but wonderful just the same. So he went to be with the Lord July 21st. It was a peaceful home going. He was the kindest man I've ever known. He is greatly missed.
I've spent a lot of time helping my mom. She is doing well and doesn't need me there as much. Life is getting a little more back to normal. I've been letter boxing with friends and family, sewing again, reading, goofing off instead of painting the basement walls.
On the subject of sewing. I've got way more of a stash then I'd like to have. So I've been looking for ways to use up what I have. That way when I see something I really like I won't feel guilty about buying it. Last week I sewed a tunic top with pleats in the front. There haven't been any pictures taken yet though. This week 3 pairs of jammie pants for me out of fabric that has been in the stash for two years or more. These were very much needed let me tell you. Don't know what is next but something is going to be made for sure. Maybe some zippered bags to keep things organized in my suitcase. (In case I go somewhere fun. lol)
My mom and I have gotten several tempting invites to go visit people in different states. Ones with warmer winters than we have. Oh the temptation.... Yes, I am positive that I could "put up with" warm weather in the coldest parts of winter. What a treat it would be. Leave the winter coats, mittens, scarves behind. Bring out the shorts, tank tops, swim suits! Oh yeah, I am positive that we could handle that. ha ha
I'll be trying harder to post more often. Especially if we do travel a little, or make something nice, or something just strikes my fancy. Whatever, I'll try to get it on here. Promise. :)
